04 - Pricing Requirements
While you may generally set your own pricing for migrations, there are some rules you must follow.
Invoices and Scopes of Service
Your invoices/Scopes of Service must always:
- List Universal Migrator as a non-optional, required item for the project.
This is required even if there is a possibility that Universal Migrator may not be used for the project.
- List Universal Migrator's cost as equal to a minimum of 1-month of the Universal Migrator subscription tier necessary to do the migration
For example, if you have a prospect coming from a Bronze-tier system, Universal Migrator must be listed as $3500. If Silver, $4500, and if Gold, $5500.
- You may not list a discount on Universal Migrator in any way.
If you are targeting a specific total invoice amount, you may move numbers around or provide discounts on other items, but the Universal Migrator line-item may not be discounted in any way (this includes offering a blanket percentage discount.)
In the event that you are subcontracting through another organization and are not providing quotes directly to the end-client, the organization who is providing quotes to the client must adhere to these terms.
Competition with Other Consultants
In the event that another consultant has bid on a project, if you undercut the other consultant, you will be required to reimburse the other consultant the difference between the two quotes. You should compete based on the value and service you are delivering - not a total dollar amount. In situations like this, you should inform the prospect that the price is in-line with what you would charge but you are able to migrate more data much faster.
