After you have completed a backup, your client may want you to tweak the data before restoring it into their new system.
The scripts for any tweaks that you apply should be saved into your
Migration Playbook. This will allow you to replay all the tweaks on a recent backup when it is time to do the final backup. This will also allow our team to support you if you have any questions.
You are required to store all tweaks in your migration playbook.
Failure to do so may result in removal from the Universal Consultant partner program.
Most firms will have the same or similar requests so we have put together two prebuilt libraries for you to leverage.
If you ever need a script something that isn't in our library, let us know and we will consider writing it for you and adding it to the library.
SQL Script Library
The
SQL Script Library is a collection of scripts that are designed to be used by a migration specialist to apply
mass-tweaks.
For example:
- If a task is related to an archived matter, mark it as complete
- Delete unused Practice Areas
- Synthesize Missing Matters for Documents
SQL Spreadsheets
These are designed to be used in coordination with a law firm to apply targeted tweaks.
For example:
- Legacy User Mappings
- Cherry Picking Custom Fields
- Reassigning Practice Areas
- Cherry Picking Matters
Nearly every migration you do will involve the Legacy User Mapping.
