GoodSync is a user friendly and powerful tool for transferring documents between computer to cloud, cloud to computer, or computer to computer. This article will walk you through installing and configuring Good Sync to transfer documents from one computer to another.

Good Syne will need to be installed on both the computer sending the files and the computer receiving the files. Follow the instructions below to install GoodSync on both computers.
1. Download the installer from their website.
2. Run the downloaded installer
3. Click Install
4. Both the receiving and sending party will need a GoodSync account. GoodSync offers a free trial period, or you can purchase a license. It is not required that both parties use the same GoodSync account, but credentials for both the receivers and senders GoodSync account must be available to the person completing the transfer.
If you have an account, click Log In. If you do not, click Sign up.
5. If you clicked Create Account, fill in the form as shown below. If you clicked Log In, enter your credentials.
6. In the image below the field labelled "1" will be the name of your device. Give it a meaningful name so you remember what computer this is.
Give the device a meaningful name (labelled "1" in the image below). This is the name you will see when you configure the transfer. It is recommended that you use something like 'firmdoamain.com - Sender' for the name of the PC that will be sending the files.
IMPORTANT: You the "Serve Files to other devices" option labelled as "2" below must be checked when setting up Good Sync on both devices.
Click Next.
7. After the software has installed, click Start Using GoodSync

2. Click New Job near the upper left.
3. Select Backup and give your job a meaningful name then click OK
4. Near the top center of the application you will see two folders. Click on the left folder icon.
5. The application is divided in two halves. The source is on the left, and the destination is on the right. You will repeat the following steps on both sides to configure both the source and the destination locations.
6. Find GoodSync Connect in the list of sources on the left side first. Click the little head icon to connect to the source GoodSync account. You will need the username and password used to configure the source computer's GoodSync account.
7. Enter the credentials for the source GoodSync account. Click the Test button. You should see "Test Results: {computername}". The name the firm assigned the computer when they configured GoodSync will be displayed if you connect successfully.
8. Once connected to the source computer, you will see their computer listed as a source on the left under GoodSync Connect>Username>ComputerName (shown in red below). You can see all the drives and folders that the source computer has access to. Select the source folder.
9. Select the destination folder on the right side (shown in green above). If you are transferring to your computer, you can choose a local folder or you can connect to another remote computer via GoodSync connect.
10. Once you've selected both your source and destination folders, click the Apply button near the upper left (Labelled with a red 3 in the image above).
11. Click the Options button near the upper right. Uncheck Propagate Deletions.
12. Click Analyze (green arrow). This can take some time depending on how many files and folders the source system has. Once it is completed, you will see a list of files similar to below. On the right it will indicate if that file exists in the destination location or not. It is recommended that you transfer to an empty folder so all files should indicate "(not present)" on the right side.
13. Review the list carefully to ensure you've selected the correct files to be transferred, and then click Sync (red arrow above). GoodSync will transfer the files as quickly as the internet allows and it will provide a status for each file, so you know they transferred successfully.
