Installing Oracle Database XE

The following instructions describe how to install Oracle Database XE

  1. Visit https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/appdev/xe.html and download Oracle Database XE

  2. Click on the link to download Oracle Database 21c Express Edition for Windows x64
  3. Once it finishes downloading, click on the folder icon to open the file's location or go to your Downloads folder
  4. Right click on the zip file
    Select Extract All...
  5. Ensure the Show extracted files when complete checkbox is checked
    Click     Extract
  6. Run the setup.exe

  7. Click Next
  9. Accept the Terms & Conditions
    Click Next
  10. Change the default location
    Click Change
  11. Click on the drop down arrow
    Select app
  12. Follow the next steps:
    1. Click on the "new" button to create a new folder under app
    2. Call it Oracle
    --(Review that your folder name location displays the new folder name.)
    3. Click Ok
  13. Click Next

  14. Enter a password that you will remember
    Click Next
  15. Click Install 

  16. Click Finish
